🌾 Our Farm
A Family Farm Rooted in History
Schultz Farms is a fourth-generation family farm in western Kansas, with roots that stretch back generations before that—through Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia, long before the United States was officially formed.
When our great-grandfather came to western Kansas, he built the core of our farmstead. Each building was constructed with purpose and painted a distinctive blueish-green—a color that still represents our farm today.
Every generation since has added something of their own, helping shape what Schultz Farms is today.
🌾 What We Grow
Hard red winter wheat has long been the backbone of our operation—it’s what our ground was made for.
Our fields follow a wheat–sorghum–fallow rotation, one of the most effective ways we maintain soil health in a dryland system. By rotating crops, we:
-
break disease and insect cycles
-
reduce weed pressure
-
protect long-term soil productivity
Because we farm without irrigation, every decision is guided by moisture and conditions. Some years allow for additional crops or cover, while others require careful management of fallow ground.
Over the years, our farm has also raised cattle, chickens, and pigs—continuing a tradition of diversified, practical farming.
🚜 From Field to Flour — All on This Farm
Everything we produce is handled right here, start to finish.
We:
-
prepare and manage the fields ourselves
-
plant and grow the crop using organic methods
-
harvest with our own equipment
-
store the grain on-farm
-
stone-mill it in small batches
-
package every bag by hand
-
ship it directly from our farm to your kitchen
Nothing blended.
Nothing outsourced.
Just real flour made on a real family farm.
🪨 Stone-Milled, Fresh
We use traditional stone milling to preserve what makes wheat valuable.
Stone milling works slower and cooler than modern roller mills, helping retain:
-
the natural oils in the wheat
-
deeper, fuller flavor
-
nutrients in the bran and germ
-
the natural texture of whole grain flour
We mill in small batches, so the flour you receive is fresh—not something that’s been sitting in storage for months.
🌱 Organic Farming With Integrity
Our fields are certified organic through OCIA, one of the most respected organic certifiers in the country.
That means:
-
no synthetic fertilizers
-
no pesticides or herbicides
-
no GMOs
-
no shortcuts
From soil to storage, everything is handled with care and transparency.
📦 From Our Farm to Your Kitchen
Every bag is filled, sealed, and shipped directly from our farm.
There are no warehouses, no middlemen, and no long supply chains—just a direct connection between the land where it was grown and the food you’re making at home.
🤝 A Legacy We’re Proud to Continue
Our family has been farming for generations, and each one has contributed something meaningful:
-
hard work
-
better stewardship
-
new tools and ideas
-
a deeper respect for the land
Today, through our flour, we’re able to share that legacy beyond our local community.
Thank you for supporting our farm and being part of that story.
Every bag helps keep it going.
